Acupuncture for Menopause

Menopause is a period of time which the cessation of ovulation and produce less estrogen and progesterone in woman’s body. Changes in these hormones cause symptoms include hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, fatigue, mood swings, memory loss, vaginal dryness, headaches, joint pain, irregular heartbeat, and weight gain etc.

How does acupuncture work for Menopause

Acupuncture treatment is very effective for woman experiencing menopause. It’s a therapy without any of the potentially harsh side-effects of hormone replacement therapy. Acupuncture balances hormone, brain chemistries, Yin and Yang levels to significant decline in hot flushes and vaginal dryness; increases energy; improves sleep and memory; regulates heart beat and releases stress and calms the mood; and may help weight loss. Acupuncture treatment not only works for the symptoms that menopause causes but also slows down the aging process.

Course of treatment

There are 10-15 acupuncture sessions in one course of treatment. Treatment frequency depends on individual condition. Chinese herbs work synergistically with acupuncture.
